I often get comments about “fixing” my belly skin whenever I do a Q&A or post anything that shows my wrinkly belly.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I totally understand that everyone feels differently about their so called “flaws”but I personally don’t see my belly skin as flawed. I see it as a representation of my kids & it reminds me of what my body did for them & keeps doing for me every single day. 🙏🏼⁣⁣ I’m so grateful I’m at a point in my life where my body image is really good & I finally love & appreciate it. ❤️⁣⁣ If I could magically remove the wrinkly skin from my belly I honestly wouldn’t do it - it’s too sentimental to me. 🥰 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I am totally aware that my wrinkly belly skin is only minor & others have it “worse”. Would I feel differently about mine if it was worse? Maybe! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know & can’t answer that. I don’t like judging someone else for feeling the way they feel, especially if I haven’t been there myself! I also would never minimise someone else’s insecurities & invalidate them. You feel the way you feel!⁣⁣ Each to their own. ☺️ Your feelings are always valid, even if other people don’t feel the same way as you. I really want you all to have love for yourselves & to realise that this idea of perfection isn’t real. If it were real the world would be SO boring anyway right! 🤪⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you’re feeling like your body image isn’t good & you’re struggling with insecurities - please don’t be afraid to speak to someone - a trusted friend or a professional if you can. You don’t have to suffer in silence. ⁣❤️⁣ Focus on how amazing your body is for what it DOES for you every day, rather than how it looks & stop comparing!!! ⁣⁣ You are all incredible no matter how you look! 🤗⁣⁣ Love you all! 😘

1 MONTH POST BABY #2 - NEARLY 2 YEARS POST BABY⁣ #2⁣ ⁣⁣ SOOO many people told me my body was ruined after having my babies & that I’d never get my body back. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I didn’t want it BACK though, I just wanted to be realistic & be the best I could be. I’m happy to say that I’m fitter & stronger than I’ve ever been & keep getting stronger!💪🏼 (Take THAT haters 😜). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’ve gotta be honest, the haters did motivate me a little but ultimately I did it for myself & my family.🙌🏼⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I truly want you all to feel as good as I do, it really is the best feeling! I completely understand how hard it is to begin & to even imagine reaching your goals when they seem so far away.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I didn’t feel motivated when I started back training after each baby - in fact it was a DRAINER… I just wanted to stay on the couch. 😩 I knew it was good for me though & I wanted to feel better so I went into “robot mode” & got it done. Some days I couldn’t get through much but I always tried my best (while listening to what my body needed).⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Being consistent with my training & eating nutritious food is what got me results.. even though it took a while to notice ANY changes - they were happening. ☺️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s important to remember that everyone has different starting points & nobody’s journey is going to be the same. This is why I can’t stand comparison, it’s probably the worst thing we can do - especially for new mums! Just aim to be your best & don’t get distracted or disheartened by what other people are doing & the results they’re getting.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’ve said this many times, but I’ll keep saying it: ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ IT TAKES HARD WORK, PATIENCE & SELF LOVE!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Just because you’d like to make changes so you can become “better” doesn’t mean you can’t love yourself as you are right now. It is self love & the desire to be better that will push you achieve your goal, not because you loathe yourself. 🤍⁣⁣

One step, or should I say backsault closer to my goal!! ⁣ I have ALWAYS wanted to do gymnastics & be able to do a standing backsault but just never tried! I finally decided to go for it this year (at 37) & it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life! I’d do it every day if I could! ⁣ I first walked into the gymnastics club about 5 months ago & told @glennnggymnastics (who’s one of the incredible coaches there) that I wanted to be able to do a “backflip” - (I thought that’s what it was called 🤣). He said: “Ok, but it’s going to take a LOT of work & I need to see you’re able to do this, this & this (he rattled off a number of skills & drills). I said something along the lines of: “Yep that’s fine, I’m willing to do the work & I love a challenge”. - That day I started working towards my backsault goal. 😃⁣ I’m at the final progression of working towards a backsault & have Glenn spotting me before going for it on my own. I’m always saying to Glenn “can’t I do it without you now?” but Glenn wants to be sure that I’m 100% ready so told me “not yet”. I’m gung go hen it comes to things like this & i wasn’t do it NOW!! (Impatient much!) 😆🙈⁣ This may seem like a small deal to a lot of people but for me it’s a HUGE deal & something I’m very proud of. ⁣ Anything worthwhile takes a LOT of hard work, self believe, determination & discomfort, along with a lot of mistakes & fails…but that’s what’s required to achieve something GREAT!!⁣ If there’s something you’ve wanted to do, but have never done it - now is the time!! Just do it!! I’m SO glad I did. 🥰⁣ ⁣ Next backsault you see me do will be without Glenn spotting me! 🎉😁

Don’t say: “it’s too late for me!” - it is NEVER too late!! I wish I started gymnastics sooner than at 37 years of age but I’m doing it now & that’s all that matters! I absolutely LOVE it & I’m SO determined to get good at it!! I’m very close to my goal of being able to land a standing backsault! PULL-UP PROGRESSION!!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ This is exactly how I went from barely being able to hang from the bar for a few secs to being able to do reps of strict pull-ups.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 1️⃣ STRICT PULL-UPS⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ This is the final move we’re aiming for over time! ☺️ ➡️ Scroll across for the other videos that show some of what I did to build up to being able to do a full pull-up.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 👋🏼 HAND PLACEMENT/GRIP⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I like to position hands slightly wider than shoulders.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Use an over-grasp grip in the palm of your hands rather than in your fingertips - this can put a lot of strain on your forearm flexors. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 2️⃣ HANGING SCAPULA RETRACTION & DEPRESSION⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣• Go from a full hang to an engaged position by retracting & depressing your scapulas - move your shoulders down & back away from your ears & try to bring your shoulder blades together.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣• Extend your thoracic spine & lift your sternum (chest). ⁣⁣⁣⁣ • ⁣Keep your core engaged.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣• Aim to have your legs straight & toes pointed slightly - I find this to be the best position!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣• Don’t go into a completely relaxed hanging position in between reps. Keep some engagement. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 3️⃣ NEGATIVE PULL-UPS⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ The same applies as the previous but you want to use a bench or step to get up to the top & lower yourself slowly under control. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Aim to do several of these - or until failure. Focus on good form though! - To make these more challenging you can hold at the top for 5 or so secs before lowering.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 4️⃣ ASSISTED PULL-UPS⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Carefully put your foot in the band, then set up with your hands on the bar.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ The same cues as above apply. Aim to bring the bar to your chest.⁣⁣⁣⁣ - I love these because they take you through the full range of motion but with less weight. Start with a stronger band to give you more assistance, then use a lower strength resistance band once you get stronger. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⭐️ The pull-up is a STRENGTH exercise, so be sure to do lower reps with the hardest progression you can manage. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Be patient & work hard! It takes time, but you can do it!! 🙌🏼😃

HERE’S HOW I LIKE TO DO A STRICT PUSH-UP! - I may be exaggerating ever so slightly in the “not like this” video. 🤣 I’m wearing @womensbest here… & GUESS WHAT!! CUES: ✅ Engage core ✅ Put pelvis into a slight posterior tilt by squeezing your glutes. - This will help your core stay engaged & keep your back straight. ✅ Stick chest “out” so it doesn’t collapse. ✅ Keep heed neutral (don’t look forward). ✅ Tuck elbows in rather than flaring them. ✅Try to keep your body “strong” & straight like a plank of wood. ✅ Inhale as you lower & inhale as you push back up to the start position. 🌬

🌴 This Mumma had a night away! 🍸 - Can anyone guess what I’m drinking? 🤷🏻‍♀️ ⁣⁣⁣ I had a couple of cocktails, ate a lot of delicious food, struggled to stay awake after 10 & missed the kids & Dec.🙈 It’s was great to get away & have fun with amazing people though!⁣⁣ We of course had to have a bit of a photoshoot since I don’t got all done up much! 📸 Had to get evidence of this rare occasion! 🤣 ⁣⁣ See, I do wear more than just activewear & bikinis! 😜⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Big thanks to Dec who stayed home with the kids! MY “BIKINI BODY” IN DIFFERENT FORMS OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. 👙⁣⁣ 🤰🏻Pregnant with Izaac to now (2 years postpartum).⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ There’s nothing “wrong” with being confident in your own skin! There’s everything RIGHT about it! 🙌🏼😃⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ When I was pregnant & postpartum & was carrying a bit of extra “padding”, people used to celebrate the fact I was confident & comfortable enough in my own body to wear a bikini. Now that I’m fit again & have lost what I’d gained during pregnancy, people say things like “why do you have to wear a bikini?”, “mums shouldn’t show their bodies like this” or “you love yourself!”. DAMN STRAIGHT I LOVE MYSELF - it took me long enough to!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Doesn’t society tell us to love ourselves? But if we do we’re told we shouldn’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I love my body in all shapes & sizes & at all stages of my pregnancy & postpartum journey. I’m so grateful for it! ⁣⁣ I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happiest with the way I am now though. I feel like superwoman! I’m strong, fit, healthy & I LOVE how my body looks! 🙌🏼 I work hard to be this way & it makes me happy. 😃⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If I could wish for anything for my daughter Mia & my son Izaac - it’s that they truly love themselves! I hope it doesn’t take as long as it took me! All I can do is lead by example though. 🤗⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ By the way, EVERYBODY has a bikini worthy body no matter what shape or size you are & no matter how much cellulite, wrinkles or stretch marks you’ve got! Wear that damn bikini if ya want to! 👙🙌🏼⁣⁣
